Legent Yamazaki Cask Finish Blend is a groundbreaking collaboration between two whiskey legends:

• Fred Noe, the seventh-generation Master Distiller of Jim Beam, represents the bold tradition of Kentucky bourbon.

• Shinji Fukuyo, the fifth-generation Chief Blender at Yamazaki Distillery (House of Suntory), brings the refinement of Japanese whisky craftsmanship.

The process unfolds in stages:

• The base is an 8-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon.

• It is then finished in three distinct cask types at the Yamazaki distillery:

  1. French oak wine casks

  2. Spanish oak sherry casks

  3. Former Yamazaki single malt sherry casks

• These three finished components are skillfully blended with a portion of unaged bourbon to create a rich, nuanced, ultra-premium whiskey.

 

Tasting Notes 

• Nose: Rich and layered with dark fruits (plum, fig, raisin), sweet red berries, toffee, and hints of leather, spice, and oak.

• Palate: Smooth yet powerful; a balance of sweet brown sugar, baking spices, dried fruit, sherry richness, and subtle tobacco and ginger.
