Mezcal Unión El Viejo is a premium artesanal mezcal from Oaxaca, Mexico, blending farm‑grown Espadín and wild Tobalá agaves. The agaves mature between 6‑14 years, allowing deep, rich flavor development. Bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV), this joven (unaged) mezcal delivers complexity without barrel aging. Unión is committed to sustainable practices—including replanting wild agaves—and works with local communities and maestros mezcaleros to preserve traditional production techniques. 

Tasting Note

• Aroma / Nose: Raw cooked agave, butter, hints of cinnamon, and fresh herbs like mint; layered floral or fruity tones (mango) and new woods. 

• Palate / Flavor: Balanced smokiness from mesquite/oak, minerality and “stone” texture; vegetal‑herbal notes; dry yet with sweet undertones, including caramelized agave. 

• Finish: Smooth, lingering; pink pepper and light cacao/chocolate; subtle warmth with a clean smokiness lingering.
